Medicare

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 years of age or older. It pays for much of your health care, but not all of it, such costs could be, prescription drugs, deductibles, coinsurance.

Medicare Supplements are a health insurance policy sold by private heath insurance companies to fill the “gaps” in Medicare coverage.

Medicare Supplement Plans

Also referred to as “Medigap” insurance, a Medicare supplement plan is an insurance policy that fills in the gaps between your Medicare A & B coverage and your actual medical costs. This plan is provided by a private insurance company and helps cover expenses like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles that are not covered under your original Medicare A & B.

Medicare Advantage Plans

A policy that contracts with Medicare to provide your Part A and Part B benefits. These plans are typically an HMO based policy and some are PPO policies. With a Medicare Advantage plan, it becomes your primary insurance and is offered through numerous insurance companies. Most Medicare Advantage plans also provide prescription drug coverage.

Part D Prescription Coverage

Also called a “PDP,” a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan is an RX policy that follows Medicare’s guidelines for prescriptions and is offered through numerous insurance companies as a Stand Alone Prescription Drug Plan

Dental/Vision Plans for Seniors

Medicare does not cover Dental or Vision, so many seniors opt to get a stand alone Dental or Vision plan to go along with their Medicare. I utilize only the best companies for these policies.
